Sworksdesign funnels have magnets that pivot away from the surface that touches the portafilter, preventing coffee grounds from getting trapped. This is achieved using custom-made, high-strength magnets that fit precisely into an external groove of the funnel. A custom-made silicone band provides stability and even distribution.
Other notable features:

The funnel's custom magnets are so strong that they can lift the entire portafilter.
You can easily remove some magnets to reduce the overall strength. Some portafilters are less magnetic and require all magnets.
Neodymium magnets start to demagnetize at temperatures above 80ºC. Therefore, a fully heated portafilter can reduce the magnetic force of a funnel with exposed magnets over time. Because the customized magnets are shielded by the funnel, it acts as a heatsink to protect them.
