Honduras Hidardo

Fruity, Sweet, and Chocolate

€15,50

We've been working with Hidardo for several years now — an enthusiastic, hard-working farmer from Honduras who's at home in many roles and strives for perfection. We're proud, once again, to share one of his exceptional organic coffees.

Although Hidardo currently wears many hats, his whole life revolves around coffee. It started in his cradle: he was born a fourth-generation coffee farmer. He's also the founder of the Cafesmo coffee corporation and, together with his fiancée, owns a specialty coffee bar in the town of Santa Rosa de Copán. To this day Hidardo feels happiest when he wakes up with a freshly brewed V60 in hand and walks to his finca to check in on the youngest coffee plants.

Together with his mother he owns 3.5 hectares of beautiful coffee lots close together, at 1,230 to 1,300 metres elevation. They work with several varieties — Parainema, Obata and Bourbon — to be able to offer a wide range of microlots. Beyond the pine trees that naturally dominate the region, extra shade trees have been planted across the finca: bananas, American walnuts, hazels, ice bean trees (guamo) and manzanilla trees (malcinca).
